I Love New England slide show

If you'd like to see photos of all the quilts in the special SAQA exhibit that was at the Mancuso show in Manchester, NH a couple of weeks ago, click here. It looked amazing...Super Ginormous Kudos to Michele O'Neil Kincaid for putting it all together!

Sue and Michele sitting under their respective quilts!

It was a lot of fun sitting at the table meeting and talking with other quilters. I had the pleasure of sitting with Sue Colozzi, who made the gorgeous Boston skyline in the photo above. A HUGE thanks to all of you who sat at the table over the weekend!

Does anyone have pictures of the Maine Event from this last weekend that would be willing to share them on the blog? (I was unable to attend so I'd like to see them!) Please send them to me and I will put them up.

Craftmen's Fair, Sunapee, NH

The League of NH Craftmen's Fair starts tomorrow, August 2nd. Every time I attend, I am absolutely blown away by the variety and the skill exhibited by all of the vendors. This year, I helped co-rep Michele O'Neil Kincaid set up her booth. She has a 20'x20' tent (Tent F) where she will be demonstrating her amazing quilting techniques and selling her artwork. Wen Redmond will also be exhibiting... anyone else??

Michele's work crew. Isn't her grandson adorable?!

Accidental editing of her sign, but Michele is also totally Rad :)

And... just one more gentle reminder to sign up to sit at the table at the Mancuso show, Saturday could use more bodies! Here is the doodle link where you can let us know when you're available.

I Love New England Show update and SAQA auction pics

We created a Doodle poll (here) for you to sign up to sit at the SAQA table at the Mancuso quilt show in August for a couple hours. Just type in your name and check the times that you're available. If you can possibly spare the time (I know, I know: it's summer! there's a quilt show to see! classes! vendors!!), it's a great opportunity to share your enthusiasm for SAQA.  You will be sitting at the table with at least one other person - it's a great way to get to know other members. You are also encouraged to bring your work to show off in the booth! Again, just click on this link and sign up!

Your SAQA reps definitely have a nature theme going for our auction quilts! Do you have a quilt in the auction? Let me know and I will share them in the next post.

May 24 & 25th: Vermont Open Studio Weekend!

Vermont Open Studio Logo
Print by Mary Azarian
Brandon again has one of the largest concentrations of Open Studios in the entire state !!!

We encourage you to visit the Judith Reilly Gallery and the other Open Studios here in town. Get a local map at the Brandon Artists Guild on Rte 7 in the center of town -- it shows how to get to all twelve participating sites. Visit several or all of them... they're all close by.

There's lots more going on in Brandon this weekend, and the Chamber of Commerce newsletter did such a great job of listing everything that I've included it below. Come for a day or the entire weekend!

More from the SAQA meeting in Portsmouth

Hi all!

Just wanted to share a link

http://www.sarahannsmith.com/weblog/?p=9057

to today’s blogpost which shows how I photograph my quilts.  It has links to a good article at textileartist.org, to Holly Knott’s wonderful section of her website “Shoot That Quilt,” and has an embedded youtube video from SaatchiOnline gallery, also with good photography tips.

Hope you enjoy it!

Cheers, Sarah
