SAQA Maine this September

We now have 31 people registered for the Maine Event. There will be a cut off of 40 people this year so if you are planning to come, or think you might come, this is the time to send me an email so I can get you on the list. If you emailed your intentions and I emailed you back, that is a confirmation and you are registered.

In a few weeks, I will be sending out a supply list for the free workshops. This year the registration fee covers your participation in the workshops, a Friday night Wine and Cheese (and other goodies) reception at the Inn plus your lunch Saturday during the workshops.

Let me know your intentions,

Member Chris Maute shares VQF

SAQA Member and VQF Teacher, Sarah Ann Smith

Lumiere paints and free-motion stitching with metallic and other threads
Sarah Ann Smith of Camden, ME taught 2 one-day classes at VQF, “Tame Fiddly Fussy Threads”, “Fine Finishes”, and a two-day class “Quilting Design”.  I took the first class. Photos from “Tame…Threads”. We first used freezer paper to make a stencil for painting leaves with Lumiere paints, then later used free-motion stitching with metallic and other threads to quilt the practice sandwich.

After class, Sarah and I went out to eat and  were later joined by Joanne Shapp and Mara Novak who each won ribbons for their quilt entries in the VQF show.
